adidas Superstar ORIGINS

The adidas Superstar was first introduced to world in 1969 and was at the time the first low top basketball shoe with a leather upper. This together with it/s iconic toe protection made out of rubber made it an instant favorite with NBA players at the time, especially all time point scorer Karem Abdul Jabbar. The Superstar made it into pop culture when in the '80s rap group RUN DMC made it a part of their wardrobe and even made a song called my adidas about it. RUN DMC was the first music stars to be endorsed by a sneaker brand, paving the way for all collaborations we see today. The shoe often called the ”Shell Toe” now has its own life and is one of the most loved sneakers of all time.

Keep your adidas shoes looking like new by washing them by hand:

Step 1 – Upper 🧽
Remove the laces and soak them in water with a small amount of cleaner. Clean the upper with a soft brush and soapy water, gently scrubbing stains, then dry thoroughly with a microfiber towel.
Step 2 – Outsole 🪥
Brush the outsole using a stiffer brush and a little water with a dedicated cleaning solution.
Step 3 – Drying 🌬️
Let them air dry naturally at room temperature (up to 24+ hours). Avoid direct sunlight to preserve their shape and color.

Care tips by category:

Running shoes: Mild soap and a soft brush. Remove the insoles and wash them separately.
Suede: Never use water! Use a special suede brush/eraser. For stains, apply a small amount of white vinegar and gently rub with a cloth.
Football boots: Remove dirt with a tool. Stuff with paper/newspaper while drying to help retain their shape.
